Project overview:
Little Geeks is a philanthropic foundation that collects, refurbishes and re-distributes, donated home computers with an Internet connection.
Our mission is to provide free computing technology and education to children (and their families) who cannot afford it on their own.
Founder Andy Walker profoundly believes in the transformative power of technology. “Computers can open doors and educate. They are an enabler and an equalizer. And they bring the world to you. Everyone should have this opportunity.”
There are two reasons to support us. First - the need for computer equipment and skills has increased significantly over the years. To ensure a successful future, children need to be computer literate.
Second – Hundreds of millions of computers become obsolete every year. We want to ensure they don't go into public landfills.

Spring 2008 update
Hi everyone! Here's a quick update of how the foundation's projects are progressing.
First of all, we received $5000 of the funds raised so far from GiveMeaning.com. Thank you to everyone who donated! And thanks to Tom WIlliams and his awesome Give Meaning team!
The funds arrived just in time as our bank account dwindled almost into overdraft.
We are planning to put 200 more machines into children's hands by July of which 10% will have free net connections.
And we're planning an April event to inspire IT managers and CIOs to donate their systems to our project. The funds are survival money. They keep our rent paid for, our lights on and the phones live, allowing our volunteer team to work in the community.
We also had an additional $2400 donated by Sapphire Canada in this effort with a promise of further funds.
We would now like to reach $10,000 (getting close - see top left of page) to allow us to add more Internet connections to machines we give to kids.
Thank you for your generosity and faith!
