Thanks for stopping by to read about me as one of the project coordinators.
I was born in Southern Sudan, grew up in Kenya and now I am a permanent (living in Victoria) resident in Canada. I am an engineering student at the University of Victoria, Victoria BC, Canada. However, social issues like this project, occupy my mind. I believe that our world is safer when and if every kid goes to school. There is no better way to educate the world than to educate the girl-child. This is why I will use all my energy to make sure that girls at Anguei Angok Girls Boarding School get an education.
Recently, James Gurech Wai visited our village in Bor, South Sudan where the school is located. When he came back and shared what he saw, I felt more resolved to help these kids. Our communities have been ravaged beyond description by a 22 year civil war that ended three years ago. I started my schooling in this same village and today, I am very competent academically and socially among peers the world over. The same can apply to these young girls. However, I wouldn’t be at university today were it not for scholarships and sponsorship opportunities; the last of those scholarships from World University Services of Canada. Therefore, I want to give back. It takes a few years of commitment to help and these young girls will be radically different.
James and I are highly respected members of the community where the school is located. Therefore, should you contribute just a little, it’s guaranteed to make a huge difference that we shall all celebrate. We kindly urge you to donate to us through givemeaning.com
Thanks so much for your time and contribution!
Sincerely,
Jok Gai Anai
