Objective  Riding to Break the Cycle 2008


Riding to Break the Cycle 2008 builds on the momentum of our '07 ride, bringing together over 26 inspiring young leaders for a unique and challenging 7 week, 3000 kilometre cycling tour from Vancouver to Tijuana (yes, Canada to Mexico).

Riders are raising funds and awareness for the critical fight against global poverty, and specifically microcredit initiatives in the developing world. This 2006 Nobel Peace Prize winning concept delivers small, trust based loans to micro-entrepreneurs fighting to pull themselves and their families out of poverty. We want to help.

This innovative program delivers:

1) A unique and dynamic leadership experience, launching these amazing young leaders back into their communities with renewed passion, skills, support and energy.

2) Meaningful interactions with communities and projects en route, learning, sharing skills, and spreading awareness about microcredit and global poverty issues.

3) A powerful fundraising mechanism to build an entirely youth run microcredit fund, helping thousands of developing world entrepreneurs and their families escape poverty over time.

Global Agents for Change, the young organization behind it all, seeks to support innovative and sustainable solutions to global poverty while inspiring youth to create a better world. And we have a lot of fun doing it!

Founded by an inspired and diverse group of young people, this organization has grown remarkably in a short time and is already delivering meaningful impact at home and abroad, engaging youth, and fighting against poverty and inequity.
