Our goal is to raise awareness and concerned interest for current environmental issues. We want to help individuals see how each of their daily lifestyle choices meaningfully affects our environment.

Currently, we are driving through every province, territory and continental state in North America to promote environmental sustainability. Along the way, we visit and learn from successful sustainable initiatives and then offer presentations at high schools wherever we travel. With all the driven we do we are attempting to break the world record for "Longest Journey by Car Using Alternative Fuel." Our van runs on Waste Vegetable Oil (WVO). Students as well as regional media are always excited to see our extraordinary, record breaking van!

Throughout our Canadian tour, we visited over a thousand students. We engaged the students with an interactive presentation, inspire them to think about how their own life choices affect the environment and what alternatives they can try, and have them outside helping us filter oil for our WVO van!

Now, we are being given the exciting opportunity to extend our mission by partnering with the Ontario Ministry of the Environment. Though we've already travelled through Ontario, we've been asked to return and do presentations at many more Ontario high schools (25). Driven to Sustain and the Ministry of Environment are currently envisioning an Ontario tour to take place spring of 2010.

We are keeping the theme of motivating students to think about eco-cultural systems and one's individual role in these interactions. We are going to be doing this through activities and have the students thinking more for themselves. We will talk briefly about our own experiences and how we came to organizing and fulfilling this project. Specifically we will be roughly following the consumption cycle, engaging students in group discussion, and providing interesting facts about the world around them.

How ever, after a very successful first half of the record attempt and awareness campaign, we ended up slipping a timing belt in our engine and are requiring extensive repairs. We are rebuilding the engine as fast as we can, but we still need your help. The repairs themselves will cost over 6 thousand dollars, not to mention the cost of the project.

We hope we can prepare you for changes in your lifestyle by which you could save money, act towards a healthier planet—socially as well as ecologically, and live a healthier mental and physical existence.
