Education Generation* is a community dedicated to providing access to education for students around the globe.
Through www.educationgeneration.org we support young leaders in the developing world with small, but meaningful scholarships to continue their studies and help their families break the cycle of poverty.
Since the inception in August 2008, we have fully funded 101 students from 6 different countries, raising over $20,000 in scholarships. These are real youth with real dreams and unlimited potential.
As part of my close involvement with Education Generation, I am currently working on developing a Fellowship Program. The program is designed to attract and send volunteers to visit our partners on-site and witness firsthand the impact that our student scholarships are making on the lives of students.Fellowships will be unpaid and volunteers will be expected to fundraise for Education Generation as part of their commitment.
I will be going as the first fellow visiting Mosqoy (www.mosqoy.org), our partner in Peru, in August 2009. The goals of the visit will be to meet with and interview previously-funded students and generate communication updates for our donors. Furthermore, I will be helping Mosqoy select a new batch of students as well as helping set up streamlined communication methods for the students to use in the future. Other activities will involve tutoring English, creating videos and pictures, writing reports and blogs and building relationships in the community.
As part of my fellowship, I am committed to raising $3,000 for Education Generation and I ask you for your support in helping me reach that goal. All funds raised through this site will go directly to Education Generation
Thank you for your support!
