Hello, This is Geoff Stewart and Lavonne Neville we are 24 and 22 years old respectively and we want to change the life of a family that we hold very near and dear to us.
We both feel very passionately that in order for Natalie to fulfill her dream to give her children a better life, she needs to go to school and find a career and a passion. But as it stands now, her life is in the grip of poverty, she makes it by but barely. She puts her children miles ahead of herself and for that she should be commended.
The budget for this project is set at $22,000 dollars. $12,500 is what will cover the direct cost of her schooling including books and classroom materials. She is embarking on a Community Support Worker nursing program. This is her dream job, one where she can help those who need it and we know she deserves it. The remaining $10,000 will cover 2 things. The first is living, as she is on social assistance and can not go to school while she is one welfare, but she can't find a job to support her two children without going to this program or one like it. $7500 will cover her living expenses, rent, food, clothing and whatever else Bienfait, Kesha and herself need. The Final $2000 will go to pay back the money she was charged by the Government when she came to Canada. With less than $300 a month to pay for food and clothing for 3 people, you can only imagine how hard it has been to pay that back.
Natalie never asked for this help, she is a strong woman who has come to Canada with the mindset that the fruits of her sacrifice will be seen in the future generations of her family whose lives will be much better than if she had stayed in the Congo.
Natalie's dreams of prosperity for her children and family are selfless, she has sacrificed so much to give her children every opportunity to have a life they could have only dreamed of in the Congo. But now its our turn to give something back to a woman who has spent her whole life giving of her self to others, her family, her friends and soon, the community she lives in.
We love her so much but know that we can't help her on our own.
Geoff and Lavonne
