We are always happy to hear comments from others or collaborate on projects.
Current funded projects
Street Kids Project
This is our founding project and number one priority. We currently support 300 primary aged school children all dealing with a variety of different challenges. Most of these children have lost their parent due to AIDS or other ailments and are either supported by relatives or friends. Through many generous contribution we have been able to provide them with accommodation, food, medicine, education and guidance. We are proud to assure that all donations are used directly for the children since GPN operates with no overhead costs thanks to hard working friends and volunteers who have shared their experties.
Malaria Prevention Project
The malaria prevention project was designed and implemented in order to combat and prevent malaria and other mosquito transmitted diseases. Malaria kills the largest number of children under the age of 5 in Africa, yet a vaccine is currently not available. The project consists of an educational workshop that covers various topics related to the disease. These workshops are conducted by Tanzanian GPN staff. Upon completion of the workshop treated mosquito nets are distributed to parents with young children for no cost. Like all of our projects, the malaria prevention project was initiated by concerned locals.
Tree Planting Project
One of our youth workers, Ras who is also an experienced farmer has recently taken the initiative to plant trees and educate rural communities about responsible harvesting. In the last 5 years he has single handedly planted over 20,000 trees. GPN has decicded to support his initiative in exchange for him to teach our children about nature through farming and tree planting. This not only educates the children, but also keep them out of trouble on weekends.
