Looking back: Over the past 5 years we have sent 8 interprofessional teams to Nepal. These teams have included biomedical engineers, IT specialists, nurses, physiatrists, physiotherapists, psychologists, occupational therapists, social workers and speech language pathologists. Your dollars have been instrumental in helping NepalAbility achieve its goals. Here are some of the highlights.
• Offered over 80 teaching sessions, workshops and seminars to an estimated 1000 Nepali healthcare professionals, students, patients and families
• Participated as invited speakers at 4 national and international conferences in Nepal and India
• Donated an estimated $20,000 in rehabilitation equipment and resources, including tilt tables, pressure mapping systems, computers, mobility equipment, splinting materials and tools, text books, hand assessment and treatment materials, and medical and surgical supplies
• Supported Nepali clinicians to attend national and international continuing education opportunities in the area of rehabilitation
Looking forward: Your dollars will continue to support training, equipment and capacity in the area of rehabilitation excellence in Nepal.
