According to the WHO (2008), the global shortage of healthcare workers is estimated to be 4.3M with the greatest shortages occurring in the poorest countries. With this in mind, we founded NepalAbility. NepalAbility is a group of clinicians dedicated to promoting quality of life for people with disabilities in Nepal.
NepalAbility is a group of volunteer Canadian healthcare professionals dedicated to maximizing the quality of life of people in Nepal who are living with a disability.
We strive to support rehabilitation by enhancing education, research and service to Nepali health care professionals. Through ethical partnerships we provide support that is both meaningful and sustainable. NepalAbility partners with hospitals in both Tansen and Pokhara by sending regular interprofessional teams; these teams include physicians, surgeons, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech language pathologists, neuro psychologists, and IT specialists.
Our goal is to raise funds towards enhancing rehabilitation in Nepal. Your dollars support training, research, rehab equipment and building research capacity in the area of rehabilitation excellence.
We appreciate your interest and hope you share the valuable work that our rehabilitation professionals are making towards enhancing quality of life for people with disabilites in Nepal.
