Opportunitas Aequa (OA), on behalf of Amazing Grace Foundation, is continuing with phase two of the project in Rwanda. The project's aim is to support our local partner organizations as they use soccer to promote messages of peace, reconciliation and gender equality. We will be supporting our local partners through four core activities:
1) Improve, in an environmentally sensitive manner, some of the current soccer-related infrastructure in the host community by re-constructing at least 1 soccer field; 2) Provide soccer related resources to local programs who use soccer to engage their youth in community building activities related to reconciliation, gender equality, and HIV/AIDS awareness; 3) Develop the capacity of local youth to lead soccer-based peace-building activities through a three-day coaching workshop; and, 4) Run two structured, week-long soccer camps that provide a safe and fun environment for children and youths affected by war.
