I am seeking assistance from people who are willing to donate any amount of money, small or large, to help send me to Kenya for three weeks in the summer of 2010. In Kenya, I will be working with several youths and leaders to build a school, teach Kenyan children English and work on water or other community projects. The entire cost of the trip is $5000, and I have raised $1000 so far without the use of this site. I've put $500 as my "fundraising goal" because I'm not relying on just this site to raise the necessary funds. As more donations are received, I will increase my "fundraising goal."
I will be travelling with a number of other volunteers from all across North America, as well as the Me to We team. Me to We is an organization that has a very close partnership with Free The Children. Together, Me to We and Free The Children have built more than 500 schools all over the world, bringing the number of children who receive an education to over 50,000 a day. Any donations I receive will be forwarded to Me to We Foundation until the time comes for me to go to Kenya. Then, 95% of the money will be used for my project (5% is taken by GiveMeaning Fund for allowing me to use their site as a way of fundraising).
