The Saint Leonard's Society of Nova Scotia (SLSNS) is a not-for-profit, charitable organization responsible for the operation of 2 homeless shelters and 2 halfway houses in the HRM. Over the years of operation, SLSNS has helped hundreds of people in transition back into their community. As well, they have offered a warm bed to many men, women and children in their time of need.

During the next few months I will be raising over $6000 for SLSNS, as this organization depends on their community to help their less fortunate clients in the HRM. The money raised will befit both men and women, and both adults and youth.

I want to participate in SWIM10 because I would love to raise awareness about the problem of homelessness in Nova Scotia. By creating a physical challenge for myself, I hope to gather donations/support by explaining the physical challenge and the great work that the Saint Leonard's Society does for the people of Halifax. Although the physical challenge may seem great to you and I, it is minimal compared to some of the issues that are faced everyday by the people who seek help from SLSNS.

I am committed to fundraising and training for this phenomenal event and need your help!!
Our official training is from February until September and then we get to travel to Greece in late September to swim about 25 kilometers over 6 days in the crystal ocean surrounding the Cyprian Islands.
