The Saint Leonards Society is a local, not for profit charity that supports local shelters for the homeless as well as men and women transitioning back into society.

In September 2010, I, along with 11 others, will be swimming 25 km to help raise awreness and funds for the homeless in our own community.

The money raised goes directly to helping the shelters operate. Most will be used to purchase food. The 4 shelters that are supported by The Saint Leonards Society are often the only places for the homeless to have a bed to sleep in and to receive a meal.

One shelter is solely for women and their children. These people are just like you and I. Often they have been victims of circumstances out of their control.The children affected are completely innocent.

Please place yourselves in their shoes and give generously.

While it is great to support causes abroad, there are many in our own community who desperately need your help.
