The open house is fast becoming a network of small group churches within Vancouver B.C.’s Lower Mainland. The open house is dedicated to motivating, inspiring, and equipping people to become actively involved in their community. Kyle Martin, lead planter of the open house, says “We no longer want people to see church as a place where people come and sit; we want people to see their church involvement as something that should transform their community". Kyle is quick to add “I want people to see church not just as a building but as a people who are actively involved in their world.”

With this in mind, the open house plans to host five interns this summer from June 20th-July 31st. The open house will help its interns integrate into the East Vancouver community by connecting them with community programs and events, and existing outreaches that are in need of their help. Some of the projects the interns will be involved with will be children’s work, neighborhood clean-up, and outreach for the marginalized. The money raised through GiveMeaning will help offset the cost of hosting three interns for the summer (food, travel, outreach material and rent). The interns are talented and energetic - we are confident that they will be excellent additions to the open house team!
