The war in Uganda has displaced millions, with thousands of youth kidnapped by rebel forces. There we have met amazing young men and women with terrible stories who are striving for a better life, and we want to help them fulfill their incredible potential. This is your opportunity to be closer to the people you help and to see their success.

One of the youth you help is David, who escaped to Uganda from southern Sudan with his brother Johnson. Separated from their family as children, these boys triumphed over incredible adversity – bombings, poverty, and rebel enslavement – to educate themselves. A boarding school near Kampala has admitted both boys. We've supported David through two years already, and are now raising funds for his third and last year of secondary school, at an annual cost of $1,500 each.

Another youth is Egidio, who at 12 was captured by rebels and underwent the most horrible experiences imaginable. Upon return, he pushed his way through school and started an organization to help other youth, the Northern Uganda Child Returnee Association. NUCRA has raised money to send youth to school and start group micro-credit programs. We are helping them start a a grinding mill and several women's savings groups.
