Give International is a Canadian based organization which specialized in Uganda, Africa.
The organization has a child care development program that consists of placing me in the poorest orphanages and help the few staffs they have.
My work will mainly consist of feeding, changing, nurturing and playing with the children and babies. The organization for the sum of $5,000.00 flies me to Entebbe where I will stay for one day, then drives me to Kampala and finally to Jinga. In Jinga I will stay at a guest house for one month.
I will be away from May 31st until July 3rd.
I will work Monday to Friday, nine to five and have the choice to work more on the weekends or rest. On top of the $5000.00, I will have to pay for the air time of my mandatory cell phone, lunches and dinners, daily transportation from and to the diverse orphanages and the costly mandatory immunization shots and malaria pills.
As I am self-employed I am to also cover all my expenses as I will not have a paycheck while I am volunteering for one month. I am unbelievably greatful to The GiveMeaning organization to provide me with access to help me fundraise for my dream and be supported financially by generous people. I have always believed that acting as a community or group of people is so much more powerful than by yourself. From the bottom of my heart, I thank you for the opportunity, your time and trust.
May 2nd 2007,
As of today I have closed my account with Give Meaning to allow them time to do the paperwork and send the money to Give International which will then send me a cheque.
I want to thank you Give Meaning and all its team for the tremendous support and creative ideas they gave me during the past few months.
I have raised a little over $6000.00 dollars through the site, fundraising dinner and personal donations and I am now awaiting patiently for my departure date on May 31st. My life has already changed so much in the past 7 months, my heart if full of all of your kind words, trust and donations. I have learned that nothing is impossible if it comes from the heart! I will carry each one of you in my heart while volunteering with the children of Jinja and I trust it will support me in the though times!
If you still wish to continue donating some money to my project, please e-mail me at verod@shaw.ca
Once again, you are all a true inspiration.
Many Hugs,
Namaste, Veronique
