All of the monies generated go directly towards furthering its mission and current project. Our first target was the rural area of Chimborazo, Ecuador. This region is one of the most impoverished parts of Ecuador and is situated high in the Andes, south of the capital, Quito. The project was the accumulation of both used and new soccer equipment (balls and cleats) that were donated in March, 2007 to the youth of Chimborazo. Our contact in Chimborazo, who works with the Centre for Indigenous Communication in Ecuador to improve the infrastructure in developing regions, gave us his complete support for the project and said it had a tremendous impact on the children.

The final part of Project Ecuador will be a short documentary flim of the project, which will be released sometime in the fall of 2007. This film will not only capture everything that we completed but also serve as means to inspire others to take on similar types of projects and endeavours.

Our first target amount with Givemeaning was $15,000, which was spread over 2 major activities: (1) transporting and distributing over 1350 soccer balls, 850 pairs of cleats and runners, $20,000 worth of school clothing and various other soccer-related equipment to the children of Chimborazo; and (2) build and finish two soccer fields in two different communities, in the province of Chimborazo.

Our suggested donation to Project Ecuador and $20 dollars.
