WHAT IS THE MEANING OF A YOGA MALA?
The annual Yoga Mala fundraiser is a series of 108 sun salutations taught by nine yoga teachers from nine different traditions of yoga.
EVENT DESCRIPTION
Dawn Mauricio and Bram Levinson are joining forces with Santopol Roulant for this year’s Yoga Mala. Held on Sunday May 29, 2011 at Jeanne-Mance Park, participants will complete 108 sun salutations led by teachers from nine different yoga traditions. All proceeds will benefit Santropol Roulant, a Montreal-based not-for-profit organization that brings people together through their innovative meals-onwheels service, intergenerational activities and volunteer programs. In the four years since the inception of the Yoga Mala, close to 200 yogis have helped raise over $13,000 for organizations such as Greenpeace, Equiterre, Amnesty International, and Le Garde Manger Pour Tous.
WHERE AND WHEN?
Jeanne Mance Park, corner Duluth and del’Esplanade, from 10am to 1pm on Sunday, May 29, 2011.
After the 108 sun salutations, participants will have the opportunity to rest, eat a healthy buffet-style meal and to participate in a raffle.
