The Corner Stone Children's Centre (CSCC) will provide a safe home and education to the vulnerable and orphaned children of New Lands, Tanzania.

The village of New Lands is located just south of Moshi, Tanzania and is incredibly impoverished. With most of the residents earning less than a dollar a day, they simply cannot afford to provide basic needs to their children. The community is struggling with the effects of poverty: lack of education and soaring rates of HIV/AIDs. As a result, many of the children in this community have been left orphaned or are living in situations which leave them vulnerable to abuse, disease, malnutrition and further cycles of poverty.

The CSCC will offer safe housing for up to 70 children from this community. The Centre will work in partnership with Tanzania Children's Concern, a local organization which operates the St. Timothy's primary school within the village. This school is already offering a very high level of education to 120 students and will provide free placements to the children housed at the CSCC. The CSCC will also act as a community outreach base and will coordinate programs to help the residents combat the effects of poverty and HIV/AIDs.

Construction of the CSCC is currently underway and significant construction has already taken place. The CSCC is scheduled to accept the first group of children into the home in late 2012 but requires new sources of funding to meet this goal.
