We care and support children through providing free quality formal education and learning skills. Scholastic materials, feeding, medication and clothing’s
The project was founded by Mukasa Job Samuel and Musinguzi Johnson in 2009 who were born and raised in this community and later realized the need and challenge to care and support for Orphans and vulnerable children and abandoned children in this community.
About the Organization
The story behind the initiation of this project is after realizing the need, challenges and conditions in which underprivileged children including AIDS Orphans and Vulnerable children and abandoned children live on a day-to-day basis;
We extend our hands to support these children in our community and create an environment where children could turn for help and be given the compassion of one love and commitment. The problem of suffering children was alarming due to an ever increasing number of AIDS orphans and vulnerable children and abandoned children in community.
Hence we were inspired to make a significant variation by caring and supporting them with a prospect to make their visions and aspirations’ develop into a certainty by providing them a free quality formal Education and life skills, scholastic materials, feeding and medication, psycho-social support.
The Problem
There are currently hundreds of AIDS orphans and underprivileged children and an ever increasing number of abandoned children in our community who do not attend to school and the shortage of affordable and assistance to formal education is at a crisis level. Excess numbers of AIDS orphans and underprivileged children is rampant and homelessness for abandoned children is pronounced
These children are the first to be denied their rights to basic needs when cannot afford formal education and learning skills, scholastic materials, they go hungry to school and have no adequate clothing’s. They are living significantly below the poverty line. As well as malnutrition an example of the impact of poverty
They are abandoned, physically and psychologically and mentally abused hence psycho-social traumatized with fears associated with going through long painful periods of orphaned, abandoned and disadvantaged, chronic poverty, hungry and illness, facing stigma and the frustration of not meeting their ambitions including formal education and learning skills.
Some of these children have to sell labor [work], begging on streets, others engage in scrap collections to earn for living or buy scholastic materials. This cause regular absenteeism and in the long-run they cannot keep pace with their school work. Typically they don't have access to quality formal Education and learning skills, others drop out of school or have to repeat the grade. Some girls and boys reach age 17 or 18 while still in primary school level due to poverty and academic failure caused by poverty or death of one or both parents or abandoned” most of these children end-up as street kids / hooligans and prostitution (commercial sex) to girls
There are two existing semi-permanent schools in this community;; but the school are actually in bad and disgusting environment and conditions. The schools cannot accommodate all these children and hence need for support to solve this problem of underprivileged children.
The fundraising effort from Give meaning will help with the building of three standard classrooms,and toilets.
Thank you for your generous and giving spirit. Be a parent of the child
