Objective: To raise awareness and sponsorship for the 2008 Triathlon of Compassion

GREETINGS
My name is Jules and I am fundraising for the 2008 Triathlon of Compassion.  I have a promotional video available on YouTube, you can watch it by following this link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=boJyvHtygBI.  My goal is to raise at least $2,000 for the Victoria Women's Sexual Assualt Centre (VWSAC see www.vwsac.com).

WHAT IS YOUR GOAL? HOW CAN I SPONSOR YOU?
My goal this year is to raise at least $2,000 in donations for VWSAC with your help, for the 3rd straight year. All donations $10 and over will result in a 2008 tax receipt.

Acknowledging that this is a lofty target to achieve in approximately 5 weeks, I ask you to:

1. donate what you can; and
2. pass this message on to others in your network (business contacts, family, friends, and co-workers) who support this kind of work, and who you think may be interested in making a donation to VWSAC.

As one individual I am limited but I am often inspired by the power of community.  Margeret Mead said it best when she stated

"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has."

Together we can make a significant difference. If we can raise $2,000 together then we will be able to donate approximately 10% of VWSAC's $20,000 fundraising target for this event.

To sponsor me online please complete the instructions on my GiveMeaning home page OR send me an email to wilson.jules@gmail.com with:

1. the amount you wish to donate;
2. your full name; and
3. your mailing address for tax receipt purposes.

From now until the first week of July I will be coordinating efforts to pick up your donation or setting times when you can drop it off.

CHEQUE DONATIONS

If your donation is being made by cheque, please make the cheque out to "VWSAC". Depending on the collection of donations I will likely send the funds collected over at two separate times for simplicity.

SO WHAT IS YOUR ROLE JULES?

For the past 5 weeks I have been training regularly through the sponsorship of Isaac Payne at Drive Fitness in Richmond (http://www.drivefitness.ca/) in preparation for the task at hand. It hasn't been easy to get out there 4-5 nights a week after work to train in the gym, in the pool, and on the road, but there have been signs of progress. At the end of the day I have to be physically prepared to survive the challenges that comes with swimming (half mile), biking (20 km) and running (5km) along the rolling hills of the Canadian Forces Equimalt Base!

I hope this message finds you well,

Jules
