Hello hello. My name is Joel Woodhouse, I am 21 years old and a neighbor of Rick McFerrin, the founder of Two Wheel View. I have lived in the neighborhood where Rick is all my life except for the last two years where I was living in Nelson, BC. I moved back to Calgary and now I am working and making plans for the future. I love music and have made it a large part of my life, I have discovered the benefits of Martial Arts and have also made that a part of my life. About a month ago I found out Rick was going down to Argentina for a fundraising bike trip and became very interested and starting making plans to make that trip real for me too.
A small group of people including Rick, his wife, and myself are going down to the province of Salta, Argentina for a two week bike trip, starting in the town of Salta and ending in the neighboring town of Tucuman. I got involved with TWV because I thought this would be a great way for me to get out of North America for the first time and do some real adventure traveling, and I also really respect what Rick has created and what Two Wheel View represents. I think taking todays youth and exposing them to the world in such a physical way such as biking really develops strong character and gives a good guideline for them to continue on in their growing up.
The purpose of this trip is to raise money for TWV's summer trip where a group of youth from different socio-economic backgrounds are going biking in Norway. The money gets used for plane tickets, food, equipment etc. My goal is $2000.00 to be raised before March 4th when I leave for Argentina. Any amount you could donate would be of great help to myself, Two Wheel View, and the youth on the program.
Thank you for taking the time to read this.
Sincerely Joel W.
